FAQ

How often will we meet?

In order to support my clients in deeply benefitting from this work and creating lasting change, I solely accept clients who can be seen on a weekly basis. In our work together, we will both commit to weekly online therapy sessions to encourage our relationship to build, maintain momentum in the work, and to re-enforce habits and thinking that support you in your process.

Cancellation Policy?

I require 48-hour notice for cancellations and rescheduling. Please provide as much advance notice for cancellation/rescheduling as possible (with a minimum of 48 hours). All cancellations/rescheduling requests made with less than 48 hours advance notice will be charged the full rate.

If you are going to be late, please let me know by email within 10 minutes. If you are more than ten minutes late for your online therapy session, I will cancel our session unless I hear from you. In this case, I will no longer be available during your therapy session. However, if you let me know you are running late prior to the session or during the first ten minutes of your session, I will remain available No-calls/ no-shows later than 10 minutes will be charged the full rate.

If you are not able to attend, I will assume that something has occurred and you are unable to reach out to me. Please send me an update as soon as you are able and we can handle logistics at this time. I will anticipate your presence at the next session during our scheduled time unless you directly communicate with me that you will not be available. A no-show or absence(s) do not communicate a desire to end therapy. If you choose to end our work together, please let me know in session or via email.

Payments made more than 24 hrs. past the completion of the session are subject to a 10% per day late fee. Payments disputed in error are also subject to 10%/day late fees. Payments are taken through Square.

As you quiet your mind, you begin to see the nature of your own resistance more clearly, struggles, inner dialogues, the way in which you procrastinate and develop passive resistance against life. As you cultivate the witness, things change. You don’t have to change them. Things just change.

What is the minimum age for ketamine therapy?

The minimum age for ketamine therapy varies by practitioner and clinic, as each has its own criteria for determining eligibility. While studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of ketamine therapy for both adults and teenagers, it is crucial to note that the specific minimum age requirement will differ depending on the medical facility. In some clinics, individuals as young as 13 years old may be accepted for ketamine therapy. My practice limits the available age requirements for ketamine therapy for adults age 18+

Is ketamine therapy covered by health insurance?

Ketamine therapy is generally not covered by many health insurance companies under their standard insurance claims. Despite being an FDA-approved drug for over 20 years, it is often considered "off-label" usage, which may result in limited coverage from insurance providers.

However, there are still ways to determine if your insurance covers ketamine therapy or to find an insurance provider that includes it in their coverage. Here are some steps you can take:

1. Review your insurance coverage:

Before starting ketamine therapy, it's important to check if your insurance provider accepts this form of treatment. Look into your policy documents or contact your insurance company directly to see if they offer any coverage or subsidies for ketamine therapy. Keep in mind that coverage may vary on a case-by-case basis.

2. Inquire about out-of-network reimbursement:

In certain cases, your insurance company may require you to pay for ketamine therapy upfront and then seek reimbursement. This typically applies when the clinical provider is considered "out-of-network as I am." It's important to ask your insurance company about their out-of-network reimbursement policies and whether they would cover a portion of the cost incurred. The extent of reimbursement will depend on your insurance provider and the specific plan you have with them. Be sure to thoroughly review the requirements and limitations of your out-of-network coverage prior to receiving treatment.

3. Provide itemized invoices if requested:

Some insurance providers may ask for an itemized invoice detailing the services provided during the ketamine therapy. This invoice typically includes relevant information such as the clinician's name, the date and type of services rendered, and the patient's identifying data. Such documentation serves as proof of service and may be necessary to support your request for reimbursement. I am happy to provide this documentation when requested.

It's important to keep in mind that coverage for ketamine therapy varies among insurance providers and policies. Therefore, it's crucial to thoroughly understand your insurance coverage, review any out-of-network reimbursement options, and provide any requested documentation to increase your chances of receiving full or partial reimbursement for ketamine therapy expenses.
